Overview

QwikLaw was originally designed for North Carolina law enforcement officers who required information regarding statutes, ordinances, controlled substances and other reference materials. Although these materials were contained in several written sources, the officer did not have immediate access to some or all of these resources. Even with "handbooks" and other similar written tools, the officer had to figure out how the particular law(s) were listed before s/he could find them for transcription. Thus, QwikLaw was forged with the goal of having a valuable resource that was up-to-date and utilized the power of a computer to make those resources easy to access.

QwikLaw was originally developed for the Palm® OS and Microsoft® Pocket PC Personal Digital Assistants (PDA). Such technological advances as “Smart Phones” have since transformed these devices. The iPhone, Android & Blackberry devices now make internet access instantaneous. QwikLaw has been re-designed to take advantage of these technologies.

QwikLaw stands ready to assist you with your needs. Our design makes it easy to access and updates are performed frequently for "up to date" information. This category provides users with a quick reference of the most commonly used laws, including statute numbers, charging language, elements, pertinent notes and, if applicable, waiver information.

Provides local jurisdiction information as State Laws.

The Reference section includes: Driver's License/Insurance Codes, NCDL/Insurance Points, Domestic Violence and Vehicle Seizure Requirements and much more.

The Controlled Substances section contains a searchable comprehensive database of illicit and prescription drugs.
